This weekend we celebrated the Day of Pink T-shirts at the Tuškanac Education Center. At the Tuškanac Education Center in Zagreb, our volunteers implementeed a fun workshop for nonviolent communication with residents without adequate parental care and with disabilities. In this way, they commemorated the Pink Shirt Day as part of a public sensitization about peer violence. By building our Friendship Tree we emphasized the importance of friendship and the prevention of peer violence. We also payed with pink baloons. With the nice messages we wrote about each other on balloons and on the leaves of our Friendship Tree, we realized the importance of being kind and communicating nicely. It is the first and most important step towards non-violent communication. This workshop is just one of many we are conducting as part of the Young Peacemakers project, which emphasizes the importance of peacemaking and volunteering.
